2024 Fall Fashion Trends

Hey Dolls,

Summer is almost over and with that comes fall fashion.  Personally, I am a bikini girlie, but every so often I can get into the layers and textures fall has to offer. This fall is on par to be classic and little ………. milennial? So, pour yourself an apple cider mimosa and get ready to discuss all the upcoming fall fashion trends.

Fall is feeling very millennial core, with that being said, say hello to the boyfriend sweaters, the slightly oversized cardigan and the little leather moto jacket. These are the tops of choice this fall. It's giving High School Musical, it's giving Pretty Little Liars, it's giving passed out in the quad after thirsty Thursday. We aren't pairing these with skinny jeans like we used to. If you really want to add some spice to your look, lose the pants! We’re still rocking the hot shorts (with tights, I mean it is fall after all) or you can go straight tights with cardigan or the sweater. Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put on a pair of leggings. This will take your look from trend to stuck in time in 2.5 seconds. This trend is millennial lite.  If you want to keep it cas’, toss on some biker shorts and sneakers and you’ve got a look.

Next up, is blazers and sweater vest! I did mention this was a millennial core fall, right? Blazers, blazer dresses and sweater vests are the office vibes to be had! But we’re not taking them to the club this time. This is a daytime vibe. Add your favorite pants or jeans to complete the look. Notice, I didn’t say leggings. This is the perfect work to happy hour vibe.

Get ready to channel your inner South Hampton, rose sipping, Tutto Il Giorno dining inner self. Striped knit full-length dresses are the sundress of the fall. These easy breezy little dresses serve the perfect cozy fall vibe. Feel free to have fun with these it’s really hard to go wrong short sleeve, long sleeve, neutrals or brights, collared or round neck, ALL ARE A GO! It's giving Tommy Girl!

Let’s take a cute break and talk accessories. Fall is all about layers, textures and food named colors like mustard, cranberry, oat and wine. The accessories are where we’re going to find all the color this season. Everything from sunnies and hats to gloves and scarfs should be adding a dash of color to your look. We’re also very into socks. Knee highs, thigh highs, argyle socks and even an extra chunky crew are feeling perfect for this fall.

Next on our fall must have list is full length skirts! It’s giving princess vibes. A-line is the safest bet. Fall is indulgent, crisp and luxurious just like the sharp edge of an A-line skirt. If you’re looking to take a risk ruffles have been popping up here and there. There have been some hits and misses. But when it’s right, it’s next level. Balance is key! Keep it simple with color and be judicious with the poof.  But, I must warn you try at your own risk.

Up next, we’re going to talk pants. Since we’re talking pants, I will take another opportunity to ask you to never wear leggings again unless it’s for fitness. Volume is the name of the game in pants. It can be minimal like track pants or maximal. We even saw a few pair of knickerbockers at the Olympics that inspired us. Cargo pants are back as well. Shout out Missy Pantone!

Finally, is ANIMAL PRINT! Zebra, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, tiger and reptile prints are going to be everywhere. It's sexy, it's sassy, it's fun and it's a way to make use of all the animal print we purchased for our brief stint in Mob wife aesthetic. Avoid black and white cow print that feels summer. A rich brown is perfect.

All of the staples will still be around so dust off your plaid mini and riding boots. They're more than welcome at the fall fashion fair.
