2025 is here! That means hello new trends, goodbye old trends and let me say some questionable style choices are ahead of us. 2025 is getting very risque and I am not sure if it's in a good way. We went from 90's to 80's to the millenium when it comes from fashion trends. So, it's only right that we pop by 2004 to 2007, right? Maybe not! 2004-2007 was very preppy athletic chic (right, chaos)! Whatever drove us to choose capris, guacho pants, polo shirts and athletic caps is back and is taking us on a slippery slope. The good news is we are not styling it the same. So, take a deep breath and let's chat 2025's fashion trend forecast.
Capri's and Guacho Pants
Capri's and guacho pants played a major part of Septembers' runway shows. These are showing up in a very structured and clean way. Pair these with a tunic for a breezy bohemian vibe or crisp button down shirt and an althetic cap for a cool collegiate feel. These are the go to for a casual yet structured vibe.
Skirts
In 2024 we kept it very mini and very denim as far as skirts were concerned with not many other options. This year we're starting with all the options on the table. So, feel free to grab a midi, mini, maxi or tea length. The only requirement is that it has some pleats. 2025 is VERY PREPPY! If you're not a preppy girl there is another option. We're getting primal or primal adjacent, if you're a vegan girlie. Animal skin (or vegan/faux animal hides) are literally everywhere. Think more textures and less prints. So avoid the satin cheetah print and grab that leather or anything animal hide inspired. If you're not interested in animal skin, very thick fabrics like courderouy and flannel will be really hot this upcoming fall/winter.
Monochromatic Looks
Monochrome is going to be a staple all 4 seasons in 2025. But unlike 2023, it's all about shade mixing to add depth and texture. So, dont be afraid to mix lights, darks and everything in between. The added bonus of shade mixing is we can create silhouette illusions with proper shade placement. This is a trend, we are very excited to see back.
All White Aesthetic
Speaking of monochrome an all white aesthic is becoming it's own pop up trend. This is very significant because for the last 10 years or so we've been questioning if white pants, skirts, or shortsweree acceptable before labor day, after labor day or even at all. Today's answer is Yes! But standby we're thinking this will be a pop up trend. So, don't go crazy on cute little white cigarette pants. We're going to need a great setting spray and a high quality spray tan for this one.
Florals, Florals, Florals
Soft girl era is invading our closets in the floral capacity. 2025 will be very flower forward. We're seeing tulip prints and cherry blossoms in the Spring and peonies and daises in the Summer. This floral trend is serving everything from a cute frolic to a smoldering hot beach vibe.
Wearable Technology
As a girl that struggles to take my Apple watch off EVER, I am in love with the popularity of wearable technology. We are living in the future dolls! Well kinda, ovbiously we love our smart watches and smart glasses. But we are going to see an increase in athletic clothing embedded with sensors and fitness trackers. We will also see this trend increase in the festival fashion. A little designer disilllusion will lend itself to less logo mania and trend pieces at festivals. This is going to open the door for more creative style choices.
