Always Slay, Or Else

All the fashion greats say it's important to make sure you're slaying because you never know what's going to happen. One minute we're binge watching Real Housewives on the couch and the next moment the girls want to go out for margaritas. It's important to always be prepared to slay.

Time is MONEY

Nothing gets in the way of a slay more than not having enough time or taking too much time to execute the slay. So some tricks to overcome the fashion time suck are:

Organization

• Organization is key! It's important to get as organized as possible.

• Keep an organized make-up system with your faves easily accessible.

• Develop a closet system that places staples and daily wear faves up front and a section for newer items.

• Make sure your shoes are visible! Take pictures and put them on the outside of boxes if they're boxed.

Out of sight, out of mind is true when it comes to fashion also. So it's key to have a highly organized system that's equally visible. This will save a ton of time when it's time to get dressed.

Prepare

Proper planning and preparation prevents poor performance. No truer words have ever been spoken. It's imperative to be as prepared for the week as possible. some ways to do that are:

• Pull looks in advance- it's smart to pull the entire week if possible

• Mentally plan wardrobe choices in advance- if you can't pick them out physically, get some firm ideas in your mind.

• Prep vanity with hair, make-up and accessories- having everything set up and ready to go will make everything much easier.

Transitional Pieces Save Moments

We have so many titles and tasks and the idea of serving mommy slay, wife slay, friend slay, boss slay and all the other roles we transition through each day in fashion perfection and appropriateness can be daunting. There's a few ways to effortlessly plan looks:

• Shoes are the game changer- transitioning from tennis shoe to flat to stiletto can take a simple jean and tank look from basic to glam.

• The devil is in the details- accessories such as earrings, bracelets, scarfs, headbands and barrettes are important small choices that make large impact.

• Comfy fabrics but cool prints- comfortable fabrics make it easy to work through a days tasks while the cool prints add a touch of style and individuality.

I know how hard it can be to slay everyday but with preparation and automation, it can be fairly easy because we never know what to expect. My Bae and I have date night almost every Friday night. Friday's can be rough because I have a full day of work, parenting and blogging with you Dolls. This last Friday night, he surprised me and proposed. I was completely caught off guard without automation and preparation I would have been saying yes in denim shorts and a tee shirt.
