The Complete Guide for Dressing for Your Body Type

Straight Body Type




If you have a straight body shape, then you're in the company of the world's greatest super models. Most straight body types are ALL LEGS! The key is to accentuate them while using slouchy or baggy accents to create shape.


Athletic

  • Sheer leggings or leggings with cut-outs (all cuts of leggings are flattering)

  • Biker shorts

  • Baggy cropped sweatshirts

Casual

  • Low-waist denim

  • Wide-leg pants

  • Cardigans

  • Over-sized sweaters


Vixen

  • Shorter hem lines

  • Long sleeves

  • Heavy fabrics are good

  • Slits, rips, tears and key-holes



Pear/Spoon Body Type


If you have a pear or spoon body shape, then you're in great company. These figures have a smaller bust with ample hips and butt! This shape can be pretty versatile. You can play up the vixen vibes and accentuate the hips or create some shape with textured fabrics up top. There are some small differences in these two body types, but dressing in a way to compliment these shapes are the same.


Athletic

  • Sports bras

  • Dark toned leggings (avoid mid-calf cropped leggings)

  • Joggers

  • Cropped tees

Casual

  • Denim jeans (most denim cuts are extremely flattering, avoid the mid-calf cut)

  • Cropped hoodies

  • Bandeau tops

  • Halter tops


Vixen

  • A-line dresses and skirts

  • Strapless cut looks

  • Color blocked looks with heavy hardware up top



Hourglass/Top Hourglass Body Type


Hour glass and top hour glass figures really pack the va va voom. There is no lack of bust, hips or butt. Hour glass figures serve vixen vibes all the time. This is one of the most equally proportioned body shapes. This makes almost all styles work. Let's talk about what to avoid for this shape. This is the most coveted shape with only 8% of women having this figure. Top hour glass figures differ from hour glass figures because the bust is a little smaller.


Avoid:

  • Anything bulky around the waist.

  • Ruffles, feathers or anything puffy that will throw off your proportions).

  • Anything that shortens your torso.



Lollipop/Inverted Triangle Body Type


Lollipop and Inverted Triangle figures have more bust than hips, waist and butt. These girls have small waists and thighs with smaller hips and butts to match. The goal is to accentuate your bust while balancing your proportions.


Athletic

  • Joggers (avoid leggings, they thin the legs more)

  • Long-sleeve athletic tops

  • Cropped tanks

Casual

  • Mom jeans

  • Flair pants

  • Pencil skirts

  • Skater dresses

Vixen

  • Plunging necklines

  • Short flared hem lines

  • A-line dresses




Oval Body Type




Oval body types have a more broad mid sections in proportion to upper and lower body. Your waist is typically less defined, but is the widest part of the frame. Dressing for this body type is all about shrinking the waist and defining the more toned legs and arms. You want to avoid burying yourself in baggy garments.


Athletic

  • Leggings with control or cinching waist bands

  • Biker shorts

Casual

  • Tops with rouching or ruffles at the bust area

  • Pants that cinch at the waist (avoid joggers or items that cinch at the ankle)


Vixen

  • Corseted tops and gowns

  • Long flowing dresses

  • Anything that plays up the shoulders and neckline
