It's not the chill of the winter breeze you're feeling baby dolls, HELL HAS OFFICIALLY FROZEN OVER. Skinny jeans are back! They were sent to the depths of our closets with a direct order never to return again. But here they are right back like that super hot ex with great energy. Skinny jeans were as essential as a good lipgloss for nearly three decades. We wouldn't dare go anywhere without them and why would we?They're literally the most universally flattering fit of all denim jean options. We are too excited to get into the why, where and how of the return of the skinny jean.
WHY?
How did these cute little jeans make it back onto our butts and into our hearts? My theory is cowboy core lent itself to Canadian cowboy. So, we had a little love affair with denim which cracked the door to being more creative with denim. Then millennial core saw an opening, kicked the door wide open and said I'm bringing my skinny jeans with me. Idk dolls, it's just a theory. We're too excited to slip into some skinnies.
WHEN?
Fall 2024 is the when. Some way, some how as we were dusting off our cozy cranberry cardigans and our riding boots we grabbed our fave skinny jeans. This quiet resurgence is everything we've secretly been asking for. Now is the time baby dolls, it's too soon to say how long they'll be with us.
WHERE?
We are seeing skinny jeans LITERALLY everywhere. The big fashion brands like Versace and Balmain have added cute skinnies to their 2024 denim collections and ready to wear brands like Good American and 7 For All Mankind are declaring a full-on skinny jean moment.
The Rules
The jeans may have changed a bit but the rules are still the same AND THAT'S WHY WE LOVE SKINNY JEANS SO MUCH. They literally go with everything, they're flattering on everyone. They serve casual, lounge, business casual and can be pushed into luxe with the right styling.
The only thing fresh about this skinny revival is that mid-high waist isn't the only option. Low rise is here for this go round, so we are truly back in 2005. I am starting to believe we can have it all. We have to know dolls, do you think skinny jeans have another three decades in them? Or is this just the final pop up trend of 2024.
