2023 Fashion Trends

Hey Dolls,

It's a new year and a new year always inspires us to be our best, brightest and boldest versions of ourselves. We promise ourselves self-care, boundaries, exercise, an amazing work-life balance and to freaking SLAY the year with the hottest fashion. While our style staples will remain just that, let's explore some of the hottest trends set to take over 2023.

Platforms

When I hear platforms, I think of Friday night's spent combing through Charlotte Russe for the perfect-colored platform stiletto to wear with a vest and mini skirt. Millennials and disco divas can understand the horror. These sky-high shoes are slated to make a major comeback in 2023. Major brands like Gucci, Versace and Jessica Rich all leaned into the Y2K aesthetic with platform styles. The good news whether you're a wedge, pump, stiletto or sandal girl there's a platform for you. If you want to try this trend, there's no need to worry. Platforms pair perfectly with jeans, skirts, dresses or shorts.

Maxi Bags

We can thank the Dior and Telfar toes for the return of the larger handbag. Lizzo had us loving the mini bag but now we'd like all the space for all of our things. Brands like LV and Moschino are offering extremely large maxi bags. This year be prepared to have bag large enough to pack a picnic.

Denim

Denim is back in every way this year. Denim jeans, jackets, and shirts will be plentiful. Hold the jorts and Canadian tuxedos though. Mom jeans, dad jeans, bootcut and flare are all options. Skinny jeans are still out girlies! The button-down denim top is a casual essential.

Moto Style

Biker gangs are cool but we're loving their style for 2023. Cycle inspired jeans, jacket and mini skirts are popping up everywhere. It's like 2005 all over again.

Colors

Colors are back with a vengeance. Deeply pigmented pinks, purples, greens, yellows and blues are replacing the recently popular tan, nude, brown, eggshell and white tones. Even Skims is jumping on the color bandwagon. While neutrals will forever be a staple, we'll be leaning more into bold splashes of color and colorful monochrome moments.

Jeans Under Dresses and Skirts

The girls are taking Y2K fashion literally with pants under dresses and skirts a la 3LW, Blaque and Destiny Child. Can you keep up? This trend takes layering to a whole new level. We don't know if we're loving this one but it's worth a try.

2023 is feeling a lot like 2003. This should make all millennials and gen z'ers v happy. Remember trends come and go so try to maximize your wardrobe by achieving these looks with your closet staples. I have to know are you feeling these trends or holding on to your skinnies for dear life? Join the conversation below!
